How to Avoid XP Registration
Windows XP tries to register your copy of Windows at Microsoft’s web site when installing XP. To avoid registering your copy of XP with Microsoft and force it into thinking you have completed the registration process, follow these steps:
1. Physically disconnect your modem
2. Turn on your computer
3. Start Windows XP Setup and answer ‘No’ when asked to use ‘Windows Dynamic Update’
4. After the installation is complete, avoid setting up your internet connection when asked, instead click on ‘Skip’
5. Click on the Start button and select Run. Type in ‘regsrv32 -u regwizc.dll’ and click OK then click OK again to close the confirmation dialog box which unregisters this dll file
6. Click on the Start button and select Run
7. Type in ‘regedit’ and click OK
8. Look for this string:
 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
9. Right-click on the ‘RegDone’ string and select ‘Modify’ then type 1 in the ‘Value Data‘ box, then exit the Registry
10. Right-click on the ‘Internet Explorer’ Desktop icon and select ‘Tools’. Click on ‘Internet Properties’ and change the default home page to anything except any Microsoft or MSN web site
11. Reboot your system
12. Right after XP reboots, but before Windows loads, be sure to reconnect your modem
My Angle
I understand for some certain reasons we do face the problem to activate Windows XP through internet. However, this tip is just only a temporary method to solve your conundrum. If you really can’t activate XP via internet, make a phone activation isn’t that difficult actually.

k-director.com Got PageRank 3
Google updated PageRank few days ago. I just had a check in http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php and http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php to ensure k-director.com’s pagerank. And I am glad to share this good news to you – k-director.com is now a pagerank 3 website.

What is PageRank?Â
According to Wikipedia.com “PageRank is a family of algorithms for assigning numerical weightings to hyperlinked documents (or web pages) indexed by a search engine. Its properties are much discussed by search engine optimization (SEO) experts. The popular search engine Google to help determine a page’s relevance or importance uses the PageRank system. Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin developed it while at Stanford University in 1998.”
“PageRank is Google’s way of deciding a page’s importance. It matters because it is one of the factors that determine a page’s ranking in the search results. It isn’t the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one. ”
Why do we want it?
According to webworkshop.net, “PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a page’s importance from the votes cast for it. How important each vote is is taken into account when a page’s PageRank is calculated.Â
How much you know about PageRank and what is your new PageRank?

Tip: To check a website’s PageRank, you can simply install Google Toolbar.
The PageRank feature of Google Toolbar gives an indication of the PageRankâ„¢ for the page you’re currently viewing.
Stop Comment Spam – Akismet
Recently I received many comment-spam. At first I thought k-director.com is just a new site, it won’t get comment-spam so easily. But I was wrong. These spam are irritating and wasting my time to delete them.
That’s why I decided to activate Akismet plugin today (Akismet WordPress plugin ships with WordPress 2.0 and later by default). After I activated it, I was required to enter a unique WordPress.com API key. Just 2 simple steps, I never have to worry about spam again.
Akismet
Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.” To show off your Akismet stats just put
in your template. What is API Keys?
WordPress.com has what’s called “API keys†which allow you to use services and enhancements built on the WordPress.com platform. This allows you to leverage the power of WP.com while still hosting your blog elsewhere.
How do I get one?
When you sign up for a WordPress.com account we will email you an API key. If you already have a WordPress.com account, your API key is listed on your profile page, which you can get to by clicking the “My Account†link in the top right when you’re logged in.
Where is my API key?
Every user of WordPress.com gets a unique API key they can use to access a number of services. This key should be as kept as secret as your password — don’t share it with anybody.
To find your key go to your dashboard and then click on “Profile” (or “My Account”) and you should see a sentence that says “Your WordPress.com API key is:” followed by a string of 12 letters and numbers. There you have it! You can copy and paste that string to any place where it is asked for by a service you want to use.
You must have registered here at wordpress.com to get an API key. Just having a wordpress blog somewhere else does not get you a key.

WordPress Plugins Added – Subscribe to Comments + PageBar
I have added 2 wordpress plugins today. The first wordpress plugin was “Subscribe to Comments”.
It allows commenters to sign up for e-mail notification of subsequent entries.
So next time if you leave any comments here, tick “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” before you send your comment. It lets you get an e-mail notification if there is any updates or reply of the comments.

Subscribe to Comments
Subscribe to Comments is a robust plugin that enables commenters to sign up for e-mail notification of subsequent entries. The plugin includes a full-featured subscription manager that your commenters can use to unsubscribe to certain posts, block all notifications, or even change their notification e-mail address!
You can get the plugin at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe-to-comments/
Second wordpress plugin I installed was “PageBar”. PageBar adds an advanced page navigation to my blog instead of “Next Entries” and “Previous Entries”.

The current navigation buttons look better than the previous one. It also provides a more convenient method for readers to explore my site. ![]()

Hopefully you all enjoy the functions of these plugins.
