Google Section Targeting: Make your Google Ads Relevant
Google section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and content that you’d like to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site’s content.
(Technology blog = technology related ads)
You may want to use targeting if you feel the Adsense ads on your pages could be more suited to the content. Ads that are more suited are more likely to get clicked on. It follows that profits may increase from using Ad targeting.
How to implement?
Section targeting is pretty simple, all you do is surround the content that you’d like to emphasize with specially formatted HTML tags. Here is an example:
<!– google_ad_section_start –> content goes here, content goes here, content goes here, content goes here, content goes… <!– google_ad_section_end –>
You can also de-emphasize certain portions of your content using a very similar method:
<!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –> content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore… <!– google_ad_section_end –>
If you have been disappointed with the results and profits turned up by having integrated Google AdSense ads within your web site or blog, do not despair first. Try to implement Google section targeting to your website/blog and I am sure you’ll see some positive changes to your Google Adsense ads. ![]()
