(Re)Building K-Director.com Blog - Phase 2

So far, I just applied Google Adsense, Advertlets, Nuffnang and Kontera ads for this blog. As you see, I am trying to reduce the density of advertisements for this blog. No why. It’s just simply shouldn’t have so many ads before I have an ideal number of readers. The content is the most urgent part I should focus on. But still, at the same time, I want to test the responses of these ads’ placement and effectiveness.

Google Adsense

I placed few Google ads in this blog. Firstly, you can see at the top side there are 5 red color text links. These anchor text links will lead the clicker to a page which contains information and links of advertiser. Do not look down these text link units. So far, it brings the largest revenue for this blog.

Besides that, there is a 336*280 (large rectangle) Google ads at the top of every post. For your information, 336*280 (large rectangle) is the most effective ads unit in Google Adsense according to many reliable websites.

At the side bar you can hardly see a blended Google ads. That is an experiment. No comment yet before I can get some statistic from it.

I didn’t blend or place any Google ads in my content because I don’t want any of you click or read the ads while you are reading my post.

Appearance is the very first impression given to your visitors. That’s why I concentrated in re-designing K-Director.com in phase 1.

In phase 2, I have implemented Search Engine Optimization changes for K-Director.com. I will be talking more about the SEO plugins needed and elements to attract more traffics to this (your) blog.

Robots Meta Plugin Installed

This plugin allows you to add all the appropriate robots meta tags to your pages and feeds and handle unused archives in order to prevent indexing unnecessary pages.
If you have no idea on how to write a robot.txt, this plugin might be your savior.

After you install this plugin, you will find this code <meta name="robots" content="noodp,noydir" /> in your site’s source code.

The progress of re-building K-Director.com is kind of slow after 3 working days. I don’t deny that this re-structuring progress is as slow as like a tortoise. But I did have a real job and real deadline for my real project. Moreover, people like to say that “Quality things made with patient”.

OK. Less bullshit. Now talk about what I have done so far for my blog. If you’re going to start a new blog, this might be a good guide for you. At least, I re-design this site after 9 months of blogging. I know where to start correctly. It helps you to create a less mistake and more effective blog.

1. New Theme
As you see, this is a new theme for K-Director. This theme comes with 3 columns + 1 bottom row. At the top and bottom of sidebar, it merges 2 columns to 1 column. So I can insert a bigger size of widget up there and bottom there.
The font’s color, size and types have been changed too.

Ya. I am going to “redesign” K-Director.com. Several free themes have been choosen for this great experiment.

Beside that, I gonna deactivate and uninstall all the WP plugins that K-Director.com is using currently. The reinstallation of WP plugins will be carried on after the new theme has been selected.
After this redesign has been done successfully, I will tell you the reasons behind it.

Hopefully I can finish everything by tonight.

Update: I don’t think I can settle everything by tonight. But at least the theme has been set. I will continue doing it when I am free (recently rushing a company project and it almost “take my breathe away“).
