5 Steps To Disable iPhone 3Gs OS 3.0 GPRS or Edge Connection
Update: For Maxis users who installed it and worked previously, but currently it stops working, read the latest post here
Previous we’ve mentioned how to disable iPhone 3G GPRS or Edge connection in 5 steps. However, it only works for iPhone OS 2.0.
If you’ve upgraded your iPhone to OS 3.0, the previous tips to disable GPRS or Edge connection will not be working anymore because “Cellular Data Network” setting can’t be found under “Network” setting.
Thus, there’s no way for iPhone OS 3.0 users to configure APN username and password.
No fear. We’ve found an effective solution to disable GPRS or Edge connection for iPhone OS 3.0 with 5 simple steps.
(Note: This solution requires Internet connection. You may use GPRS, Edge, Wi-Fi or 3G connection to make this works. It only requires very minimum data from Internet)
- Run “Safari” on your iPhone.
- Visit iPhoneNoData.com
- Tap the “Disable Edge/3G”
- Tap “Install”
- Tap “Install Now” to confirm
That’s it! No more auto GPRS/Edge connection when you accidently tap on “Safari”.
You can double check this function by tapping “General” and scroll down to view a new profile as below print screen.
You can also simply uninstall it to enable your GPRS/Edge/3G connection by tapping “General – Profile – Remove”

I cant install the disable edge/3g…could be my firmware problem? i using ver 3.0.1 iphone 3g 8gb…plz help me,is there another step to do it
example:
1.off the phone before install?
2.take out the sim card?
3.reboot the phone?
You can disable Edge / GPRS on iphone running on 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 by logging on to unlockit.co.nz thu sfari browser and click on continue on the page and click on disable data,Now you will be prompted for installation and you can install it.Switch off and back on your iphone and now the edge and gprs is disabled. HOPE THIS WILL SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS.Please do comment on this.
Hi. I have tried the simple 5 steps to stop the data from running. I have one question : there is a E appears beside my carrier. Does this means the data still running? I off my wifi and tried to surf safari, it appears “could not activate cellular data network..” Does this means that the simple 5 steps has successfully disable the data from running without my consent?
Yes you have succeeded in de activating the data usage.Now you want be charged for any data usage.

need help..my data is not working..I got 3gs using OS version 4.1.. When i initially got my 3gs I had 3.1 installed.. at that time I used this technique to disable data to avoid substantial charges.. While I had APN no data installed I upgraded my OS to version 4.0… Upgrade was successful but now I m unable to enable my data pkg.. I have tried all options by enabling data from settings and all but nothing seems to help and I m stuck with 3gs without data… I need to enable my data ..can somone help in this issue…
My GPRS charges last month was RM45 – I don’t know why. Could spend on stuff with that money. Now with this method, hope it’ll be RM0 next month.

When I clicked to disable the function it says CANNOT INSTALL PROFILE- Safari couldn’t install a profile due to an unknown error.

I have installed the data from I phonenodata.com but my I phone is still using the cellular network help me please

I have been reading on a couple sites about disabling my iPhone 3gs GPRS or Edge connection, but what I want to know is WHY would I need to do that?? I can’t seem to find the reasons why you would want to do this or what is even happening when I do disable it?

i hav followed ur 5 steps and my gprs data stopped…
but when i reboot my iphone this again activated……………(note: i hav installed sbsettings frm cydia) … is there any conflict between these two software?

the gprs connection was still working how to stop that
