Adobe Director 11 is finally available for download. If you’re new to Adobe products, registration is required in order to download Adobe Director 11. At the meantime, Shockwave Player 11 download links are available too.

I have downloaded and installed the trial version (30 days) of Adobe Director 11. After 4 years of waiting, I just couldn’t wait to see how’s the new Director will be looked like, how’s the new features, what’s the changes and etc.

Finally Adobe has launched Director 11 today. Many of Director fans are discussing this good news in adobe forum.

Just a short post to make sure this blog is still alive.  

According to the most recent Director Podcast, Adobe will be announcing the new Adobe Director 11 at the Games Developer Conference next week.

Bad news for all the Director folks. Adobe has just delayed the date to announce the new version of Adobe Director 11 from last December to February. It has been postponed second times which from 2007 December to 2008 January and now, 2008 February.

No one can guarantee will it be another delay for Adobe Director 11 new release announcement. I think this latest news is very disappointing to all the Director users who have been waited for years. Reasons for the delays have not been told. No explanation is given by the Director Product Management team in their FAQ page.

Here’s what Adobe Director 11 FAQ states:

When is the next version of Director software expected to be released?

Adobe has not published an official time frame for the next release of Director and generally does not disclose details of new releases more than 30 days before a product is expected to ship. However, our current planning assumption is that the next major release of Director will be announced in February 2008.

It’s been too long for Adobe Director users to wait for the release of Adobe Director 11. It has been postponed from early of 2007 to end of 2007 and yet we have no big clue about it after the last Director 11 updates.

A new version of shockwave player released last week. The Shockwave 10.2.0.023 does not redirect you to shockwave.com at the end of installation.

4 more months for the release of Adobe Director 11. I  believe by that time, there will be another update of shockwave player.

Another good news about Adobe Director 11.
Director 11 will be presented by several engineers 3 times at MAX 2007 in Chicago. Adobe Director folks are adding a BOF for Director at MAX 2007 so yes, there’s a session on Director 11 at MAX.

The CMS version of updateStage is down. Between that and a severe hard drive crash here at the office I’m reverting updateStage to a more simple site. The Mile High Table is back online as well as the quirk list. Any broken links will be fixed over the weekend. Thanks for your patience.

Even the site is considered “new” and not 100% complete, but still the Mile High Table is working as well as the quirk list.

For your information, Mile High Table contains a huge list of all the Director Xtras. It’s an useful table for all the Director Xtras seeker. Quirk list contains an assortment of reports of Director misbehavior. So you can’t solve a certain “bug” in Director, check the quirk list out 1st before you made your complain in Director forums. The quirk list does provides a good solution for most of the Director misbehaviors.

I just got this breaking news on Adobe Forum. Samuel Joseph IV received an email from Adobe asking him to take a survey on how he uses Adobe Director. In the email it says that Adobe Director 11 will be released in ‘near the end of 2007‘ not ’some time in the middle of 2007′ .
