How many feeds you read everyday? I read quite a lot of them by using Google Reader. The number of feeds is increasing every week and I am figuring out a faster way to read in Google Reader.
One of the best way to read faster is to control Google Reader by using keyboard shortcuts. Depend lesser on mouse can fully utilize our left hand and boost up the productivity.
By entering “Shift” + “?” in Google Reader, a list of keyboard shortcuts will be showing up.
Based on the Release Date of Windows Vista SP1, I believe most of Windows Vista users have upgraded their Window Vista to SP1. However, the upgrading process does not go smoothly for some of Windows Vista users.
In order to settle Windows Vista SP1 upgrading problem, Microsoft released KB948343 support that explains why some of Window Vista users cannot search for SP1 through Automatic Updates and its solutions.
8 Potential Causes:
You are already running Windows Vista SP1.
Windows Vista SP1 has not been released for the language of the language pack that you have installed.
Windows Service Pack Blocker Tool is used to block the delivery of Windows Vista SP1 from Automatic Updates or from Windows Update.
You tried to install Windows Vista SP1, and the installation failed with a known inconsistency in the file or registry structure.
A hardware device driver or device software was problematic when you updated to Windows Vista SP1.
You have installed a prerelease version of Windows Vista SP1, and you must uninstall the prerelease version, or start with a new installation of Windows Vista.
You used the third-party program vLite to configure the system, and you may have removed required system components that have to be available for Windows Vista SP1 to be installed.
You see one or more updates for Windows Vista when you run Windows Update. However, you do not see Windows Vista SP1 listed.
To add an animated favicon.ico instead of statics favicon.ico for your blog or website is not that difficult. Here are the steps to create and insert an animated favicon.ico:
Create an animated gif file.
Rename the file extension to .ico. favicon.gif -> Rename -> favicon.ico
Upload it to your website. For example: http://www.yoursite.com/images/
Edit your header.php or index.php. Depend on what CMS you’re using. Add the following:
<link rel=”icon” href=”http://www.yoursite.com/images/favicon.ico” type=”image/favicon-icon” />
Now the animated gif should appear in the address bar of your web browser or bookmark section. So far, only Mozilla Firefox and Opera can display animated icon, and Internet Explorer didn’t support it.
CHMOD refers to setting the access privledges for a file. We normally modify it when dealing with add-on domain and WP plugins. It’s kind of fussy if we type CHMOD 777 filename for each file and what if we have 100 files?
These are the steps to show you how to CHMOD a folder and its contained files via ftp:
1. Run ftp software, then log into web server.
2. Browse to the folder that you would like to set it to CHMOD 777. Right click the folder and select “Attributes (CHMOD) Ctrl+O”.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to enter a trademark or copyright symbol, find the right Wingding, or the keyboard shortcut for an em dash, then you should check out this tool - Character Map.
Here’s the steps on how to run this program:
1. Go to “Start” -> “Accessories” -> “System Tools” -> “Character Map“.
Gmail just launched a new feature - View as slideshow.
Now you can open a Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) file or Microsoft PowerPoint (DOC) file without downloading it to your computer.
You’ll read your email that attached PPT/DOC file as the image below.
Just click “View as slideshow” next to the .ppt attachment and it will be opened by Google Spreadsheets in a new browser window. It works the same with .doc attachments too.
So don’t worry to view your Gmail PPT/DOC attachment without Microsoft Office installed. Good trick Google!!!
