After waited for 3 months, I finally got my first Advertlets cheque!

I cashed out my money on 2nd of October 2007, after 45 days of preparation plus 45 days of delivery, I got my cheque today (I am staying in KL area).

My thoughts about Advertlets

Even though there is a lot of complaints and frustrations about Advertlets but at least, Advertlets does pay the money. Hehe.

I have a few suggestions to Advertlets here. If you know Josh Lim, please ask him to pay this blog a visit.

1. More transparency - Be more transparent on the payment progress so at least publishers know the exact time they can receive the money.
2. Quick reply - Be quick in replying the questions that asked by publishers. I received Advertlets’s reply 2 months after I submitted few tickets to Advertlets to ask about the payment, earning and impressions problem.
3. Higher earning - I believe most of Advertlets publishers are facing this crisis like me. The earning per impression has dropped terribly. My earning has dropped from RM1-2 per day until today, RM0.10-RM0.20. I did give them the reasons but I don’t think Advertlets takes it seriously.
4. Keep a good image - If talk about branding, I personally think Nuffnang has done a good job on it. Think about the email nuffnangers received from Nuffnang, the punctuation of Nuffnang’s cheque and the efficiency of Nuffnang. Advertlets has a lot to learn from them.
5. More promotion - Promotion should be carried on from time to time. Online and offline promotions can attract more bloggers to join the network and at the mean time, the brand name will get more famous.

Conclusion

Asia ads network is now more competitive since we have 4 local ads network right now. But isn’t it the reason that will beneficial bloggers and advertisers? I wonder…

Another option for making money online is writing a Pay-Per-Post. However, this method only can be applied on an aged blog. For blogsphere newbie, this is not encouraging because of the low PageRank and traffics. But for experienced bloggers, this is another income source to get paid to blog

Last month I applied to become a publisher on AzoogleAds because I wanted to test its performance in K-Director.com. However I received their reply last week and this is what they stated in the email:

AzoogleAds network is no longer accepting Malaysian as their publisher. Why??

The Reasons Behind It

1. Publishers from Malaysia are abusing Internet to make money online.
2. Our (Malaysian) reputations are not good.
3. Lack of purchasing power from the local market.
4. Too many MFA websites are based in Malaysia.
5. We can’t bring targeted traffics to AzoogleAds.
6. They are not aiming Asian market.

The above reasons are just my wild guess.  :cool:  So for whoever from Malaysia, you can save your time to apply as a publisher on AzoogleAds after you read this post.

Just a quick post to share with you guys. 4th Malaysian ad network - Nufflets.com is now officially launched. I just registered as a publisher and waiting for their approval.

Here’s some facts about Nufflets.com:

• The word, Nufflets = Nuffnang + Advertlets
• 4th Malaysian ad network
• PageRank 1
• Minimum payout = USD50
• Pay in check (I hate check)
• Founded by Nabil
• Serving Cost-Per-Click (CPC) ads
• Its ads design looks similarly with Google Adsense.

Nothing much to comment yet before I have really go through it. But I wonder how many bloggers are willing to take the risk to publish Nufflets ads as its ads is violating Google’s TOS from my point of view.   :shock:

According to WidgetBucks International CPM Q&A, advertisers of WidgetBucks are not willing to buy traffic from Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Egypt, and Romania. Therefore, impressions and clicks from the above countries are NOT COUNTED!

If your site is targeting local traffics, I would suggest you to remove WidgetBucks ads in your website for own sake. I just checked my WidgetBucks’s CPM ads statistic. My widgets got 500 over impressions but the revenue is still $0.00. I believe most of the advertisers of WidgetBucks do not have confidence in Asia users’ online purchasing power. It maybe sound sad but this is the fact that we need to accept it.

Update: WidgetBucks ads is successful displayed in my site now. But due to its loading problem, I have removed it again and placed it another site. 

Last week, I removed WidgetBucks from this blog due to its slow loading and effectiveless (I got over 2000 impressions but yet I got any money. ). Sometimes, it even caused my browser hanged for 2-3 seconds for loading WidgetBucks ads.

WidgetBucks International CPM Ads Launched

Just the day after I removed WidgetBucks, they announced that they have successfully launched International CPM ads to be included in their Widgets.

Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries).

It means now I can generate income from WidgetBucks even no one from the U.S. and Canada click the ads (normally for image ads, click rate is extremely low). Therefore I decided to give it another try and see how much money can be generated per 1000 impression.

Update 17/12/2007: After I submitted 2 support tickets to Advertlets, I finally received their reply today. Advertlets calming that all valid cashouts for October should be received in the next 1-2 weeks and reminded me to replace my Advertlets ad placement for higher revenue.

Update 13/12/2007: Finally I saw my cash out status changed to “Processing“. It’s already 42 days, they are just started to process my cheque. What’s wrong with Advertlets?

Today is 2-12-07. I suppose to receive my Advertlets cheque in November if according to what Advertlets stating in Earning/Cash Out History page:

Blogger payments are processed at the end of every month. Please submit your cash out request before the end of the current month to make sure you receive your payments by the subsequent month.

I will take the subsequent month as the next month after I cash out my money. It’s fair enough for them to issue a cheque in 30 days but not more that it.
I still remember what they state in their FAQ section:

How will I get my money ? How do I cashout?We will pay you by either cash or cheque once your account balance reaches the minimum payout rate of RM100.
Currently you can only cashout via cheque. In the future we will offer Maybank2u (for those with Maybank2u accounts), and also prepaid reloads (currently only for Maxis Hotlink and Celcom Xpax) cashouts. For prepaid mobile users, as you will not need to wait for us to send you a physical reload card. Your reload number can be sent to your e-mail. Please wait 15-30 days for payment.

2 weeks after my first appeal to Google Adsense, I decided to fill in online appeal form again to “remind” Google about my case. Few days later, I finally got their reply.

Bloggers like Johnchow.com and ConnectedInternet.com don’t mind to reveal their blogs’ monthly income. From their point of view, this kind of post can easily attracts their readers’ attentions towards how they make money online via blogging. On the other hand, bloggers like liewcf.com has stopped showing his monthly income since September 2005. The reason I am not too sure.

I have been struggling whether want to reveal this blog’s monthly income or not for quite a long time.
