I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Mozilla Firefox browser. Mozilla Firefox browser has been set as my default browser regardless at home or work. Thus, it’s common that I save all my bookmarks, passwords, shortcuts and a lot of history junks in my Firefox browser.
It’s actually kind of risky if my harddisk is crashed and I might not able to access all my customized settings anymore. So if you depend a lot on Firefox browser like me, I would like to urge you to backup your Mozilla Firefox settings on Web or alternative drive.
Here’s 5 simple steps to backup and restore your Mozilla Firefox settings in your profile.
5 Steps To Backup and Restore Mozilla Firefox Profile
- Search your Mozilla Firefox profile in your computer.
C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXXXX.default
(User name and XXXXXXXX are subjects to change based on individual computer) - Copy the entire folder and save it on Web or alternative drive.
- To restore back, browse C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXXXX.default in your hard drive.
- Copy every single file in XXXXXXXX.default folder and replace them in your current Mozilla Firefox profile.
- Restart Mozilla Firefox.
Prevention is better than cure.
